The Nebraska Checkers Association recently held their Omaha City Open Checkers Tournament at the American Legion Post #1 on Saturday 4/21/2007.
This Tournament was a 7 Round Freestyle Championship with a new winner.

Calvin Lathan - 2007 Omaha City Checkers Champion

Congratulations Calvin Lathan for winning this Championship! He competing against tuff opponents like 4 Time Nebraska "Hall of Fame" Champion, John Pestal, Jr.

He also beat out Rev. E.C. Oliver, The Current 2006 Nebraska State Champion.
